Canadian First: Online Investment Platform Funds GTA Projects

NexusCrowd Inc is partnering with Downing Street Realty Partners on its $12M revamp of three GTA industrial properties: 37 Advance Rd and 212 Norseman St in Toronto, and 951 Verbena Rd in Mississauga (above). NexusCrowd has raised $500k for the projects via its online platform—a Canadian first, the company claims—which enables investors to co-invest alongside institutional players and provides a "frictionless" way for private equity firms like Downing Street to attract new capital, NexusCrowd said, noting real estate crowdfunding is experiencing “explosive levels of growth.”
