QRC West Scores Lease Deal

Details are scarce, but Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust is confirming a substantial lease deal for the new QRC West, Phase 1, one of its properties under development at the corner of Richmond and Peter. Allied’s Tyrone Bowers says it’s a long-term lease transaction with a “substantial” tenant, taking 70k SF. In late 2012, Allied leased 50k SF of GLA to Sapient Corp. The new tenant will occupy four vertically contiguous floors, and will serve as the tenant’s Canadian head office when they take occupancy in 2015. (But who could it be? We'll start taking bets now.) Part of their space includes the fifth floor, interstitial space between the former roof of the heritage building at 134 Peter St and the underside of the new structure that’s going up.
