Fresh from buying the 270k SF landmark in Fort Lauderdale, Steelbridge Capital plans to overhaul and rename SunTrust Center into Las Olas Square.
The project, which includes the 17-story office tower at 515 East Las Olas Blvd and its three-story sister retail building at 501 East Las Olas Blvd, was picked up by Steelbridge this past summer for some $90M.
While the exact price of renovations was not revealed (described only as a multimillion-dollar program), numerous changes will be made, including a complete overhaul of the retail property to create a boutique, mixed-use building with a new restaurant space, new lobby and a park-like central square with lots of seating and WiFi.
“Las Olas has for some time needed a central community plaza that supports its emerging status as a 24-hour downtown," says Steelbridge's Gavin Campbell.
