Wood Partners and Hewitt Architects are taking their plans for 2nd + Stewart to the Design Review Board for early guidance, Curbed reports. The tower at 1631 Second Ave will be 39 stories and contain about 230 apartments, plus ground-floor retail and parking. At least in the early design, the structure will cantilever over the trapezoid-shaped Broadacres Building next door by 20 feet. According to Hewitt, the small and irregular site at the corner of 2nd and Stewart, where the street grid turns, lends itself to a distinctive size and shape.
