Heron Flats + Lofts, a 95-unit multifamily building, recently opened in Redmond. The 131K SF building has one-, two- and three-bedroom units in two separate towers. It also has five two-story live/work lofts on the ground floor.

The property, at 7662 159th Place NE, was developed by MainStreet, a Kirkland-based real estate developer.

The building has direct access to the Lake Sammamish River Trail and is near Marymoor Park and the Burke Gilman Trail. It is near Heron Rookery, a 4.6-acre open space named after a colony of great blue herons that once lived there.

Heron Flats + Lofts is one of six Washington state buildings to earn the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Platinum certification. Green elements include water-efficient sinks, LED lighting, low-VOC materials and Energy Star appliances.
