The WhyHotel brand is furthering its expansion on the West Coast with plans to occupy 50 apartments in the Avalon Belltown Towers.
Located at 210 Wall St., the units will be fully furnished and allow for access to the apartment building’s amenities including its fitness room, indoor and outdoor common areas and its outdoor cooking spaces.
Avalon Belltown Towers is a 24-story, 275-unit apartment building.
WhyHotel was founded in 2017 and currently has a presence in the Houston, Virginia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., markets with plans to expand in other cities this year.
The company is also developing its Hospitality Living branch, which will be ground-up, flexible-use assets. It is set to launch in 2022.
The pop-up hotel trend is the hospitality industry’s answer to Airbnb and helps fill empty apartments during the lease-up phase. WhyHotel operates the pop-ups inside newly built luxury rental apartment buildings that have yet to lease their units, according to a report by USA Today.
