Millennium Partners Hits Back

Those behind Millennium Tower hit back at critics this week who alleged the building’s foundation was not sturdy enough. Builders of the luxury tower specifically targeted claims leveled against them by the Transbay Joint Powers Authority, noting all engineering plans were approved by the city.

Millennium Partners addressed TJPA saying, "Contrary to TJPA’s assertions now, a decade later, 301 Mission St was never designed, expected, advised or required to drill pilings ‘200 feet down to bedrock,’” reports Curbed. The unexpected sinking that followed, Millennium asserts, was due to extensive construction at the Transbay Hub weakening the ground in the neighboring area.

The Millennium Tower’s homeowners association sent damage claims to the TJPA holding it accountable for the unexpected sinking and tilting. [Curbed]
