Sudberry Properties kicked off leasing at its latest residential property at Civita, the company's urban infill TOD in Mission Valley, West Park. SVP Marco Sessa tells us that the non-smoking property has already attracted a lot of attention for its sustainable features, in particular the fact that Civita has been designated a "smart-grid" community by San Diego Gas & Electric, which may allow portions of the property to operate independently of the grid and keep electricity flowing during outages.
The 612-unit West Park, which is on 10 resort-like acres, includes hydronic HVAC systems, WaterSense fixtures, Energy Star appliances, solar electric system for some common areas, LED outdoor lighting and a high efficiency irrigation system. Residents will also have access to the car-sharing service car2go and EV charging stations. The property is located near the San Diego Trolley station, and plans call for the construction of a Civita pedestrian bridge over Friars Road to make the trolley more accessible.
