Phoenix Offers More Than Warmth For Wintertime Travelers

Where to spend your winter vacation? (If you don't already live here, that is.) Phoenix is near the top of WalletHub's recently published list of Best Warm Destinations for Winter Travel, which is certainly a plus for the local economy, especially hotels, restaurants and retailers. The city came in at No. 4, behind Las Vegas, LA and San Diego, and ahead of Orlando and in-state rival Tucson.

The company analyzed two weeks of flight data for 69 of the largest metro areas and compared them across 26 key metrics. The data set includes cost of the cheapest flight, number of attractions in each winter vacation spot, and its various hassles, to come up with top warm-weather and cold-weather destinations. (Atlanta came in No. 1 for cold weather; NYC was No. 2).
