At 142 North Broad St, plans to convert a parking garage into an apartment building with potential ground-floor retail have begun to move forward.
The six-story parking garage will be renovated with an additional four floors to be added on top, totaling a 93k SF project consisting of 101 apartments ranging from 425 to 700 SF. The building, which sits across the street from the Philadelphia Convention Center, is owned by Myron J. Berman. Renovations are estimated to cost around $20M, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Michael Ytterberg of BLT Architects, who designed the project, says the expansion will be a "glass cube" on top of the existing structure. [PBJ]
