Another member of a NYC real estate family has died. Townhouse Management Co chairman Richard Maidman (left) passed away Friday at 83.

Richard took over the company in the 1960s from his father William, who started the company in 1933. Richard’s son Mitchell (right) is the company’s president and active manager.

Richard oversaw the construction and design of the 32-story Aurora tower and a 18-story luxury apartment building on West 24th Street, which he sold to the Berkshire Capital Group for $93M. He also established Maidman and Mittelman to provide real estate legal services.

The Maidmans feuded with another real estate dynasty, the Dursts, over the 22-story 113 West 42nd St. Richard sold the building to the Durst Organization for $13M in 2001, only requesting a plaque honoring his late father in the bank.

Richard is survived by sons Mitchell and Patrick, daughter Dagny, brother David and sister Bonnie, among others.
