Jersey City Residential Update: 37,000 Units In Pipeline

Jersey City has over 37,000 residential units in the pipeline and more than 9,000 under construction, reports Jersey Digs, which updated its comprehensive Jersey City Development Map this past week.

Unlike last year, in which most multifamily development centered around Downtown and Journal Square, there are now units being built in every corner of the city, it said.

That includes areas like The Heights and West Bergen, particularly at locations near the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail system, JCity Realty principal broker Natalie Miniard said at Bisnow's recent New Jersey State of the Market event in Jersey City.

The influx of new rental properties will benefit Jersey City's condo market, as renters will eventually want to buy, she added.
