Last issue, we asked you if social media and mobile technology--like Twitter, Facebook, and texting--are playing a larger role in keeping your tenants informed. The results were mixed: Many property managers and owners are investing in technology, but others are just sticking to the tried-and-true methods. Some of your responses:
"Social media is used to inform tenants about events, artinstallations, promotions, etc., that add some fun to the workplace. However, officialbuilding bulletins are sent through to office reps via traditional methods such as email and paper memos.Important, immediate building alerts are often sent via phone message services such as Send Word Now."
"During a power outage, tenants would like property managers to tweet and text with updates."
"Generally, the answer would be no; however, there is some use of mobile technology at the property level."
"My property type is mostly industrial; we do not use social media as communication. However, I do have more and more tenants texting me."
