Darwin Realty Principal Dan Fanelli Dies

Chicago real estate has one less titan. Darwin Realty & Development principal Dan Fanelli died over the weekend. A Loyola University Chicago graduate, Dan joined Darwin in 1982 and was one of Chicago's top industrial brokers and an integral member of Darwin's management team. Darwin founder and managing broker George Cibula says, "Dan was an example of what a man should be in business, hard-working, knowledgeable, loyal to his customers and pleasant in his dealing with other brokers. If I had a child in the brokerage end of the business, I'd want Dan to be their mentor."

Dan leaves behind his wife, Ann, son Dan Jr. and daughter-in-law Nancy, daughter Lana Mavrelis and son-in-law Tony Mavrelis and one grandson. Visitation is Wednesday, May 11, from 3pm until 8pm at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 Lake St in Roselle. The funeral is 10am Thursday, May 12, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mt Carmel, 1101 N 23rd St in Melrose Park.
