North Point Hospitality broke ground recently in SoBro on the first-ever Marriott hotel to contain three of its brands in a single building. The property will include an AC Hotels, Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites with 209 rooms, 136 rooms and 125 rooms, respectively. "Having successfully developed a dual-branded hotel, the tri-branded concept was a natural progression,” says North Point CEO Jay Patel.

At the groundbreaking, Atlanta-based North Point also unveiled an original 300-pound model of the hotel made with 63,636 Lego bricks (pictured). The commissioned model was designed by artist Sean Kenney. The actual hotel will open in mid-2018. Previously, North Point developed the 194-unit Hilton Garden Inn and adjacent 119-unit Home2 Suites Hotels in the West End/Vanderbilt submarket.
