The plans to turn the historic Villa Carlotta into a hotel are no more.
The developer, CGI Properties, announced unanticipated new plans last week by releasing a joint statement with LA City Councilman David Ryu, who reps the area.
The decision came after the building's tenants and members of the community made it known they did not approve of the plans, according to Curbed.
Hollywood's Villa Carlotta dates back to 1926 and has housed famous people over the years, including actress Marion Davies, famous movie directors and architect Wallace Neff.
The Hollywood United Neighborhood Council voted against the hotel project last month.
