A car wash and retail building on La Cienega could be demolished to make way for a mixed-use project.

The 28K SF property north of the Beverly Center at 431 North La Cienega Blvd. could have a low-rise building with 96 apartments. The apartments would be above around 14K SF of ground-floor retail space and an underground parking garage, Urbanize LA reports.

Developer Jacob Stark has requested a 40% increase in density in exchange for setting aside nine residential units for very-low-income housing.
