Rendering Of Fashion District Tower, Dtla
A new mixed-use high-rise may soon be coming to the Fashion District in DTLA.
The LA City Planning Commission unanimously approved the proposal Sept. 14.
Called the Fashion District Residences, the project is a JV between Realm Group and Urban Offerings, Curbed Los Angeles reports.
The 33-story high-rise would be built on top of a surface parking lot at Seventh and Maple streets.
The project was approved despite complaints from Skid Row advocates who are concerned residents may be displaced. Development has driven up housing prices downtown.
There would be 452 apartments, including 50 units of affordable housing, in the 370-foot-tall tower on top of ground-floor retail.
It would be the tallest building in the Fashion District if built.
