Betting On SoCal's Future

There are many variables on the horizon that could change the landscape of Southern California. To hear expert predictions, join us for Bisnow's first Future of SoCal event Nov. 15.

Foreign investment and global integration will be among the topics covered at the daylong event.

Though it's no surprise Asia is tops when it comes to foreign capital investment in the US, Canada is the nation with the most investment capital, as we recently learned at Bisnow's Los Angeles Annual Foreign Investment Forum (panel above).

While money has been the focus, it is important investors also aim to put down roots and make themselves part of the community, according to Urban Link CEO I-Fei Chang, who will be one of our speakers at the Future of SoCal event.

In addition to current developments in areas like downtown LA, instead of flooding the market with the same product, investors should consider other projects, including higher education and museums.

These topics will be among those discussed, along with ballot initiatives, including the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative being proposed that aims to crack down on megaprojects with a goal of instituting a two-year moratorium as a way to try to stop the LA City Council from "spot zoning." Speakers also will highlight billion-dollar projects in the pipeline and the impact of emerging markets.

Thought leaders will discuss innovations in design, tech and construction when it comes to CRE, and LA Rams EVP of football operations and COO Kevin Demoff will be on hand to address the crowd.

Don't miss Bisnow's first-ever Future of SoCal  event Nov. 15.
