The LA crowdfunder has hired Varun Pathria (snapped with son Nirvaan, daughter Aryana and wife Maria) as its chief investment officer. Most recently, Varun was an SVP with real estate private equity firm Colony Capital. At his time at Colony, Varun closed on deals in excess of $20B. AssetAvenue has been raising capital successfully in the past year, bringing in another $11M in April in its Series A funding round, led by DCM Ventures. The platform, which was launched last year, raised $3M in seed funding in September with Matrix Partners and NetEase.
