The Pacific Arts Colony is an arts-focused affordable housing project built on a former automotive repair facility lot in San Pedro's core. Meta Housing SVP Chris Maffris (far left) tells Bisnow the project will help revitalize the neighborhood, which has a thriving arts and culture community. The project at 303 South Pacific Ave is Meta's fourth arts colony, but the first open to non-senior residents. It includes six ground-floor live/work units for resident artists and a full-scale gallery space to encourage collaboration with the nearby arts district. The development was financed with 9% tax credits, in addition to money from the California Community Reinvestment Corp and the Community Redevelopment Agency of LA.
