L.A. County is clearing the way for more affordable housing.
The L.A. County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to set aside more than $37M to build affordable housing with more than $18M in loans for five projects in South L.A.
The projects will include 304 units of housing for the homeless and residents with disabilities or special needs, Curbed Los Angeles reports.
A development called the Florence Library Apartments (above) would be the largest of the projects. It would have 117 units and is being built by AMCAL Multi-Housing.
Another development would be built by the Hollywood Community Housing Corp. near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Hospital.
It would consist of 85 units with 40 being set aside for low-income families, and 43 reserved for people requiring healthcare assistance.
