Affordable Housing Going Up In Sylmar

A new, mixed-use affordable housing development, Sylmar Court, is rising near the Sylmar Metrolink station.

The five-story project at 14920 Astoria St is being built by Meta Housing Corp along with Western Community Housing, Y&M Architects, and the LA Housing and Community Investment departments.

It will have 101 subsidized units, including studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, above approximately 35k SF of ground-floor commercial space, Urbanize LA reports.

There will also be a 3k SF community center.

Rents will range from $467/month to $1,295/month, and households making 30% to 60% of LA's area median income will be eligible to live there. [ULA]
