TransCanada Expands At Bank Of America Center As CBRE Moves Out To Consolidate

A few weeks after losing its anchor tenant, Bank of America Center is back in the headlines. CBRE, which for years has maintained space in both Downtown and the Galleria, will vacate its 20K SF space in BoA to consolidate operations in Williams Tower, where it has leased an additional 77K SF. CBRE will also move its other offices out of 2700 Post Oak Blvd. The new space in Williams Tower will be part of CBRE’s worldwide Workplace360 initiative, which features a variety of innovative work settings.

On the other end of the scale, TransCanada has taken an additional 22K SF at Bank of America Center, where the pipeline company currently occupies 180K SF. TransCanada made headlines last year when it acquired Houston-based Columbia Pipeline Group for $13B.

Bank of America Center recently lost its namesake tenant to Capitol Tower, and Crestwood Equity Partners also recently decided to vacate Bank of America Center. Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, an international law firm, is downsizing its footprint in the building.
