Greenspoint District Changes Name To North Houston District

Greenspoint is focusing on the future by leaving the past behind, and that means a new name. The 12-square-mile area known as Greenspoint District has changed its name to North Houston District.

District EVP/COO Bart Baker says, "since our new name is tied to our overall location and not a property, it will facilitate talking about development and activity throughout our entire service area, not just one section."

The district's website name has been changed as well, to northhouston.org. The name change reflects what most of the 1,500 businesses in the district already refer to the area as, district president Greg Simpson said in the announcement.
