Microsoft Corp. is growing its operations and footprint in Irving with a $31M capital investment expected to create 575 jobs, turning the company's Las Colinas site into a top regional hub.
Gov. Greg Abbott announced Microsoft's expansion plan, noting the company's move is evidence of Texas growing as a top technology hub.
“Thanks to our world-class workforce and common-sense, free market economic model, companies like Microsoft are investing in the Lone Star State and creating high-paying jobs for hard-working Texans," Abbott said in a statement.
"I thank Microsoft for their continued investment and will continue to promote policies that expand these beneficial partnerships and bring more jobs to the Lone Star State.”
Abbott's office said a Texas Enterprise Fund grant of $4.8M has been extended to Microsoft.
The Las Colinas submarket had net office absorption of roughly 325K SF in the first three quarters of 2019 and 2.1M SF under development, according to data from JLL. The only markets with higher absorption figures were Uptown, Downtown Dallas and Far North Dallas, JLL said in its third-quarter office insight report.
