Real Estate's Top Dogs

"Happiness is a warm puppy," said Peanuts creator Charles Schulz. We found some real estate folks who agree.

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Wayne Shulman is thankful for his pooches' unconditional love, something we all need (especially when parents or spouses are fed up with our messy, procrastinating ways). That's Lucy in the back, and Nellie up front. At work, Wayne's seeing office space options shrinking. After all the ups and downs over the years, though, rents in some of the office buildings that were built in the '80s are finally where they are supposed to be. We'll see if they hold up, he says.

This is Roscoe, top dog and best friend around the office of Partners by Design. On most days, you can find him leading design development meetings, sitting in on GC and subcontractor interviews, working with the city to file for permitting, or when he's not too busy, just lounging around the office. Roscoe belongs to senior designer Jennifer McCord, whose recent work includes the Rocket Fuel, Twitter, and Braintree office spaces.

Meet Henry, a Goldendoodle who lives in Old Town with Goby's Helee Lev. He lives a sustainable lifestyle (the USGBC would approve) and enjoys eating nature's finest creations: flowers, mud, and his neighbors' hostas. Helee's in California this week continuing the rollout of Goby's new partnership with Able Engineering (first announced by Bisnow at BOMA in Orlando) to their shared clients in the West. At home, Goby's office is at LEED-certified and dog friendly 211 W Wacker (managed by Ameritus), so Henry often comes to work and helps her save the planet, one building at a time.

Pupalupicus the Papillon (name inspired by Sesame Street's Snuffleupagus) comes to us all the way from New Jersey via Caryl Communications' Joia Pisani. Just his name alone can brighten a bad day, Joia says, though that hoodie probably has something to do with it as well. (We have a soft spot for papillons, the breed of your Chicago reporter's childhood dog.)
