Kanye Comes Home

We were on the scene at AAHH! Fest in the West Loop's Union Park last night when the crowd erupted after "surprise guest" Kanye West's entrance. It only took a little social media sleuthing to determine that 'Ye would be the night's headliner, but an appearance by Chicago's hometown rap hero still had us saying "Mercy!" and touching the sky. (See what we did there?) Organized by Common, another local rap favorite, yesterday's lineup highlights included back-from-hiding comedian Dave Chappelle, Lupe Fiasco, and Twista. Proceeds will benefit Common's Common Ground Foundation, Donda House (honoring Kanye's mother), and arts education in CPS.
