Vince Vaughn's Palmolive Building Penthouse Sale Is Chicago's Biggest Home Sale Of 2016

The Palmolive Building, Chicago

After years on the market and repeated reductions in asking price, the three-floor Palmolive Building penthouse condo owned by actor Vince Vaughn has sold. Even though the $12.1M sale is the biggest Chicago area home sale of the year, it fell far below Vaughn's original asking price, and the road to reach this deal was as entertaining as some of Vaughn's best-known roles.

The Swingers actor paid $12M for the condo in 2006, when he was filming The Break-Up in Chicago with Jennifer Aniston. He listed it for $24.7M three years ago and later reduced his asking price to $13.9M, according to DNAInfo.

Vaughn was finally able to fund a buyer by splitting the 12k SF penthouse in two. The top two floors sold for $8M earlier this month while the three-bedroom lower level just closed for $4.1M, and was  marketed as a complete rehab for a potential buyer. [DNA]
