River North's NEXT Apartment Tower to Begin Construction

A construction permit has been issued for an apartment tower planned at a site near the old Cabrini-Green. The Fifield Cos development will include 310 apartments and 6k SF of ground-floor retail at 347 W Chestnut St. The 28-story, Pappageorge Haymes-designed tower also has a new name, Curbed reports. Formerly called Avant, the new name is officially NEXT at NoCA with NoCA meaning North of Chicago Avenue. Amenities at NEXT included an outdoor pool and spa, fire pit, outdoor grill kitchens, a gym and a screening room. [Curbed]
