Related Midwest Closes in on West Loop

Related Midwest will soon make a big West Loop splash. The multifamily developer, most active in Streeterville and the South Loop, is going ahead with plans for both an apartment tower at 1035 W Van Buren St and around 100 condos at 723-729 W Randolph St, Crain’s Chicago Business reports.

In addition to the endless neighborhood buzz around 1K Fulton (pictured) and Google’s imminent arrival, each proposed project has its own unique advantages. For the Van Buren rentals, it’s proximity to UIC and Rush folks as potential tenants. For the Randolph condos, it’s a lack of large-scale competition (and a rumored robotic valet parking system).
