John Buck Ready To Break Ground On River North Apartment Development

The John Buck Co's 24-story apartment building in River North could be starting any day: Assumption Catholic Church's parking lot, the site of what Buck is calling 3Eleven, was fenced off after last Sunday's service, Curbed reports.

Buck announced plans to build 245 apartments at 311 W Illinois last year. Assumption, dwarfed by Buck's glass and steel structure in this rendering, will get a new parish building and garden from Buck.

Before construction can begin in earnest, a 1,400 SF garage will need to be razed. A demolition permit has already been issued. Buck is including ground-level retail and 109 parking spaces with the development; some of those spaces can be used by Assumption. [Curbed]
