Tishman Realty Wants to Build a Streeterville Hotel

New York developer Tishman Realty wants to enter the competitive Streeterville hotel market with a 24-story hotel on the former site of the Museum of Contemporary Art (pictured). The space at 237 E Ontario has been vacant for years.

Tishman will present plans for a 395-room hotel on the site at a 6pm, Dec. 8 meeting at the Sheraton Hotel Chicago & Towers, 301 E North Water, which Tishman recently delivered.

If approved, the project would join completed and proposed hotels nearby like the Loews Hotel and ECD's planned Marriott Autograph hotel at 224-228 E Ontario. The downtown hotel market is in the midst of its biggest boom in 30 years. [Crain's]
