Are there plans for an 82-story hotel in the West Loop? It depends who you ask. Mexican firm Grupo Posadas announced the project late Friday but wouldn't divulge a location. West Central Association president Armando Chacon told DNAInfo Grupo Posadas hasn't met with them or city officials, nor have plans for the hotel been submitted. At its announced height, the hotel would dwarf other buildings in the West Loop and nearly match the 83-story Aon Center. The hotel is one of five Grupo Posadas plans to build in the US. Grupo Posadas VP Javier Barrera said the hotel, if approved, would deliver in 2017. [DNA]
