REACH Social Raises $280k for City of Hope

Bisnow joined over 1,200 CRE pros at the 16th annual REACH Social at the House of Blues (we wouldn't miss it) and caught up with the event's organizers. We snapped Bisnow's Jonathan Hobfoll (overdressed as usual), Leopardo's Ruben Ruban, Golub & Co's Lee Golub, and Leopardo's Rick Dupraw. Rick and Lee were co-chairs of the event, which raised $280k to benefit pioneering research in cancer, diabetes and HIV/AIDS taking place at City of Hope. Of course, we had a little time to talk about real estate, too, and Lee told us that Golub is getting ready to break ground on its next high-rise rental development in Streeterville. It's also at work on a South Loop high-rise residential development and developments in Phoenix, Tempe, and San Francisco.

Attendees listened to performances by Dr. Bombay, Liquidated Damages, Mad Cow, Missing Ted, and Spaki, playing all the crowd favorites. Some of the crowd included Wilkhahn's Jessica Santos, Goby's Jenna Bruce, McCallum Architects' Neil McCallum, Wilkhahn's Amanda McCoy, our own Jonathan "Waldo" Hobfoll again, and Marriott's Kait Carlson.
The event was made possible by the volunteer work of the people in this pic, who remind you to attend next year (April 25, 2013). Top: MB Real Estate's Mark Buth, VOA's Jeannette Lenear, JLL's Bill Rogers, TVS Design's Marc Adelman, Associated Bank's Lisa Sawczuk, HFF's Jeff Bramson, Transwestern's Scott Becker, Partners by Design's Enza Parrella, and Walsh Construction's Tom Caplis. Bottom: Fifth Third Bank's Charles Krawitz, Power Construction's Pat Donley, Peregrine Group's Ward Feste, Lee, Rick, and MB Real Estate's Danny Nikitas.
