Why Demand In Downtown Boston Will Keep Up With Supply

Downtown Boston's a magnet for Millennials and the companies that employ them. How long that trend will continue will be a key talking point at our Future of Downtown Boston event June 21 at the Boston Seaport Aloft.

Among our speakers will be Trans National Properties president Justin Krebs, who lives in Boston and is optimistic about the trend. "The growing stress on our roadways drives all ages to want easy access to both public transportation and an 18/7 lifestyle," Justin tells us.

Above is Justin and son Jake, kicking off Memorial Day weekend at the Sox Game last Thursday night. Another benefit of living in the city, he says.

Downtown has witnessed a tremendous rebirth, adding a wide range of restaurants, retail and residential over the last five to seven years, thanks to the BRA and Downtown Crossing BID. "As for office demand Downtown, companies today are competing harder than ever for highly skilled talent of any age, and that talent typically wants to be in the heart of it."

That’s what TNP is counting on as it looks to deliver up to 700k SF of new, large floorplate, open office space that fosters collaboration, which Justin believes drives innovation today.

The CBT-designed 1.7M SF Trans National Towers proposed for Winthrop Square will be a mixed-use complex that includes office, residential, hotel and food and beverage-driven retail along with an Entrepreneur Innovation Center and tech incubator called the Hub Accelerator for Downtown’s early-stage companies.
