1M SF South Bay Town Center Gets Go-Ahead

The BRA recently approved the South Bay Town Center, a major project being developed by Edens.

The five-building, 1M SF property will include 475 units of housing, of which 62 will be affordable; a 130-room hotel; 125k SF of retail and restaurant space; a cinema; and parking for approximately 1,100 vehicles.

Designed by Stantec, it's configured to be walkable, with open spaces, community gathering areas, courtyards and promenades with outdoor café seating. Edens expects to deliver the development in three phases, starting construction later this year and completing it in Q2 2018.
