Facebook Seemingly Expanding In Austin

All signs point to Facebook expanding its Austin office. BuildZoom reported that 24 permits have been filed this year for the renovation of floors nine through 12 at 300 West 6th St, where Facebook occupies the 10th floor. Each of the floors includes about 27k SF, for an interior build-out of around 108k SF.

Balfour Beatty Construction was named general contractor on each of the permits. Work to date has cost $11.2M, according to permit estimates, and another $4.9M will go toward an interior remodel that will include an internal staircase connecting all four floors, an external staircase providing employees with direct access to theeighth story parking lot, and an accessory food service for employees only.
