Hospital For Special Surgery Taking 65k SF On Far West Side

The Durst Organization has signed the Hospital for Special Surgery to a 65k SF footprint at Frank 57 West, one of three properties it owns on 57th Street between 11th and 12th avenues.

The space is slated for use as an outpatient clinic, and will be spread over four “community use” floors in the building, the New York Post reports. The lease is signed but hasn’t been made public due to lingering approvals that still have to come in from the city.

Frank 57 West is on the same plot of land as Durst’s sprawling, Bjarke Ingels-designed pyramidal tower, Via 57 West. With the help of a rezoning allowing large-scale residential development, Durst has developed the entire block since buying a 99-year ground lease in 1999.
