What’s in Store for Downtown Brooklyn in 2016? Here’s How You Can Find Out

Placeholder

January is almost behind us, so as we all adjust to dating things “2016,” there is a natural inclination to know what this year has in store for us.

Luckily the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership has read our collective minds, and will look to answer that question for us with its third annual 5x10 Talks. Starting at 7:30pm on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the BRIC Arts Media House at 647 Fulton St, the event will feature innovators in Downtown Brooklyn who are helping to drive the city’s economic growth. We at CPEX Real Estate are certainly excited for it.

The 5x10 Talks are modeled after the wildly popular TED Talks, the lecture series of global movers and shakers sharing their expertise, insights and ideas on a myriad of topics in brief, powerful talks of 18 minutes or less. With more than 800 million views to date, it’s no wonder TED has inspired organizations such as the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership to organize events like the 5x10 Talks that bring experts and innovators together on a more local level to share their knowledge and vision on the next great ideas.

This year’s 5x10 Talks lineup will feature:

Donnel Baird, CEO and Founder, BlocPower

Alex Blumberg, CEO and Co-Founder, Gimlet Media

Katy Clark, President, Brooklyn Academy of Music

Dale Talde, Chef and Proprietor, Three Kings Restaurant Group

Teresa Younger, CEO and President, Ms. Foundation for Women

Five speakers. 10 minutes each. 50 reasons to mark your calendar for Feb. 23 instead of wondering “What’s next?”
