No, LaGuardia didn’t expand into the neighborhood. But JetBlue just signed a 200k-SF sublease in Long Island City, keeping its HQ in NYC and combining its current Forest Hills and Darien, Conn. corporate offices into one at 27-01 Queens Plaza North, also known as The Brewster Building. (Fun fact: It’s where the Brewster Aeronautical Co. manufactured the first monoplane fighter airplane used by the US Navy in WWII.) Subject to execution of the lease with MetLife, JetBlue will move into the Brause Realty-owned building by mid-’12. Now that it’s truly a New York airline, JetBlue and the State will also begin joint branding of the I Love NY logo.
