Inside the restored Empire State Building
Ta-da! Results of the ESB's $550M comprehensive renovation (a far cry from the scaffolding we saw when we visited last November andApril) revealed Wednesday by W&H Properties—the only name of the recent Malkin family-rebranding to stay the same. Jones Lang’s Ray Quartararo, whose firm was part of the project team that included Beyer Blinder Belle, noted the project's magnitude, for a commercial building built in ’31, is quite dramatic. It included a complete restoration and re-creation of the Art Deco lobby, common area renovations, Observatory renovations, energy-efficient retrofits, and façade waterproofing.
