Four Companies That Could Buy Salesforce

Placeholder

SalesForce.com has been rumored as a potential takeover target and the company’s market cap, previously at $40B, soared on Wednesday as a result. It's unknown what price the company would sell for, analysts speculated a 20% to 25% premium on the stock price may be in order. Potential suitors include Microsoft, as the tech giant has an existing relationship with SalesForce.com through a partnership announced last year. Price should not be an issue for Microsoft as the company has $95B in cash sitting on the balance sheet. Others mentioned as potential suitors include Oracle, SAP and IBM, the San Francisco Business Times reports. SalesForce is a leader in the cloud computing space and any deal has the potential to be one of the largest software company takeovers to date. [SFBT]
