Northern Virginia’s data center hub is continuing to grow. Ashburn-based Latisys is expanding to Europe based on demand for hybrid cloud hosting solutions. The company will start offering its Cloud Enabled Systems Infrastructure platform in a high-density, Tier III data center in London to enterprise customers. The company plans to offer a mix of enterprise-grade private and multi-tenant cloud with compute, networking, storage, backup, and security. CEO Pete Stevenson, here with his top 2013 sales guy Joe Luc, reports that the company surpassed $100M in run rate revenue. (If London could topple the Iron Curtain, imagine what it can do with a firewall.)

Compu Dynamics opened The Rack, a design studio in Sterling where data center professionals can learn about the latest data center technology, products, and services. CEO Steve Altizer says the data center community was missing a place to do hands-on research on different products. Compu Dynamics also sells and installs all the products, but Steve says he’s hoping The Rack can be seen as a place to hang out and talk data center shop.
