So who's learning how to make Belgian waffles for an office party today? The DC tech community has been making big events out the World Cup games. Falls Church, Va.-based Nexus Systems filled its board room with boxes and boxes of Flippin' Pizza during half time at last week's World Cup game.

Entrepreneurs at Disruption/Crystal Tech Fund in Arlington, Va., lugged their laptops into the big meeting room to watch the game. Disruption principal Paul Singh took to Facebook last week recruiting techies for today's viewing party, which includes two 90-inch TVs and two 50-inch TVs. (The ref in the Mexico/Netherlands game may have benefited from those.)
