The Amazing Race...to Give Students at Louisville Rooms

This is the scene this week near the University of Louisville, where Campus Crest Communities is furiously trying to finish up work on The Grove, a seven-story 656-bed housing facility near campus. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, marketing has been ongoing at The Grove for a year and many leases have already been signed. But U of L's director of housing, Shannon Staten, says it would be "ambitious" to expect Campus Crest to finish the project by its established completion date, Aug. 23. (We've got two hands people, let's double hammer.) But housing really can't be built quickly enough at Louisville, where the number of students living on campus has skyrocketed in recent years: in 1998, about 1,700 students lived on the main campus, while last year, almost 5,000 young-ins lived on campus.
