Samsung, WeWork Partner To Take On Apple's Genius Bar

Samsung and WeWork are teaming up to offer a new work-while-you-wait concept.

The companies will be opening “care centers” in several WeWork offices across the U.S., including Detroit, Miami and Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that will combine tech service tune-ups with WeWork's co-working concept, Fast Company reports.

While the centers are similar to Apple’s Genius Bar, they will be taking a slightly different approach to customer service. Rather than encouraging people to browse products while they wait, this concept allows people to work while they deal with the time-consuming task of getting their tech fixed.

The centers will be situated in a WeWork office and will provide customers with full access to a Samsung/WeWork office space that includes shared tables and Samsung workstations. The dedicated sections will also feature upgraded phone booths with video conferencing and higher-end furnishings.

In order to ensure the pair make the most out of the relationship, Samsung also has plans to begin hosting after-hours talks with creative professionals in the WeWork spaces so Samsung customers can gain exposure to WeWork offices and culture, while WeWork customers gain knowledge about Samsung products.
