Circuit City Is Coming Back From The Dead, But Not Just Yet

Everybody was surprised to learn in January that Circuit City is coming back from the dead, but now it looks like that resurrection is going to take a bit longer than anticipated.

The store had planned to open its first shops since its bankruptcy seven years ago this month, but CEO Ronny Shmoel is delaying those plans. “We are taking our time to get this right,” Shmoel told Twice, which isn’t a bad idea since in the store’s first life it fell from being the leading big-box tech retailer to bankruptcy.

Shmoel says that means fine-tuning Circuit City’s website and figuring out a deal to work with Amazon, not compete against it. That’s probably a good move, seeing as Amazon accounted for a staggering 90% of consumer electronics sales growth nationwide last year. [Twice]
