Meet BOMA's Regional Members Of The Year
The BOMA International TOBY Awards in Washington, DC, were also an opportunity for outgoing chairman & CEO Kent Gibson, BOMA Fellow and president of Capstone Property Management, to recognize the associations' three regional members of the year.
Above, Kent is snapped with Physicians Realty Trust VP of property management and BOMA/Georgia member Mark Dukes, who served as president of his local association last year and led the organization in the development of a new commercial real estate leadership master's program; conducted in-depth research leading to a comprehensive strategy to address the educational needs of building engineers; and significantly grew BOMA/Georgia's education enrollment and membership.
Also honored was Brookfield's David Foley, who has served as general manager at Ernst & Young Plaza, 777 Tower and FIGat7th (the latter a 2016 International TOBY contender in the retail category) in Downtown Los Angeles. There, he has directed real estate operations, business continuity, security and life safety and critical infrastructure environments.
As chair of BOMA/Greater Los Angeles' BOMAPAC committee, David also helped increase fundraising from $10k and five sponsors in 2013 to $52k and 35 sponsors in 2015.
Lastly, Crescent Property Services property manager and BOMA/Dallas member Tracey Pals was lauded for her volunteer work for her local association, including the development of an official sponsor program that generates $180k per year in support; serving as co-chair of the Southwest Region Conference in 2011 and 2017; and serving as a board member for BOMA/Dallas and the BOMA/Dallas Foundation.
