Apple has signed a 500k SF lease to move its London headquarters to Battersea Power Station in 2021.

Apple’s new campus at Battersea Power Station—that when complete will be the largest mixed-use project in Central London—will account for roughly 40% of the project, making Apple the largest office tenant at Battersea. The electronics and software behemoth plans to transition its 1,400 employees to six floors within the development’s central Boiler House.

Apple is one of several tech companies that have expanded their offices in London, including Facebook and Amazon, Bloomberg reports. Last year, tech and media companies made up for roughly 310M SF of office space in London, according to Colliers International data. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the deal is a “sign that London is open to the biggest brands in the world and the leading city for trade and investment.” [Bloomberg]
